Construction Meter Rentals

Construction meters are available for rent for construction projects.  Please contact the office at (760)947-1840 to check availability.  A Construction Meter Permit must be completed, a $121 account setup fee, a $121 wrench deposit, and a $950 construction meter deposit must be paid at the time of pick-up.

Construction meter accounts are billed on a monthly basis.  The monthly rental fee is $49 and water consumption is billed at $4.75 per hundred cubic feet (HCF).

Meter readings must be reported by the 20th of each month by fax, email, or visual reading in the office.  Failure to report a current meter read will result in an estimated bill and possible meter confiscation/forfeit of deposit.  All estimated bills are subject to a $63 recalculation fee.

A 1% delinquency fee will be applied to all balances over 30 days past due.

The meter must be attached to a fire hydrant with a minimum of a double detector check valve by use of the provided hydrant spanner wrench, not a pipe wrench.  Water flow must be controlled by the gate valve on the meter, not the hydrant valve.  The meter must be secured at all times.  If the meter is lost or stolen, it is the customer's responsibility to file a police report and contact Hesperia Water District promptly.  A new meter will not be issued until a police report number is provided, along with applicable fees and deposits.
